York Technical College Students Win National Competition
For the second year in a row, we are national champions! The SkillsUSA National Competition in Atlanta, Georgia wrapped up last Friday, and multiple students made the podium. Once again, the medals prove that we have the best programs, strongest faculty, and the brightest students in the nation!
Through SkillsUSA, our students are given opportunities to become career-ready leaders whose work has been viewed by industry professionals across the United States.
Congratulations to the following competitors:
- Nathan Baker and Sean Hanes - Gold Medal in Mechatronics
- Britney Hunter - Silver Medal in Nursing Assisting
- Daniel Pernell - Silver Medal in Action Skills
- Tristan Moss - Bronze Medal in CNC 5 Axis Milling
- Angelo Allison and Billy Vanderveer - Fourth place in 3D Animation
- Lorena Lee, Abbigayle Pontes, Cailee Ratliff, Emma Mozingo - Fifth place in Entrepreneur
- Daniel Marino - Ninth place in CNC 3 Axis Milling
We are incredibly proud of our winners, their advisors, and the entire SkillsUSA Chapter
at York Technical College. They worked hard this past year to get to the national
stage, and we are thrilled to see their efforts pay off.
Both Nathan Baker and Sean Hanes will have the chance to represent the United States of America at the international competition, WorldSkills, later this year.
The 2023 SkillsUSA National Competition saw York Technical College win gold and silver in CNC Axis Milling. With the College doubling its medal count in 2024, we cannot wait to see what 2025 has in store!
