Once you're accepted, we’ll send you your next steps by email, including course suggestions
tailored to your goals. Our Enrollment team will help lock in your classes, so you’re

To be accepted to the College, you must complete ONE of the steps below.
- Provide official high school transcript, college transcript, or GED score report. These documents must come directly from the issuing institution to be accepted.
- How to submit your transcripts
- Electronically: Ask your high school, college, or GED agency to email your official transcript to:

- International Transcripts:
- Credentials earned outside the USA must be evaluated by a member of the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES) (www.naces.org/members) and sent to the college.
- Meet GPA Requirements:
- For Fall 2025, students with a 2.7 unweighted high school GPA or higher are eligible for admission without placement
testing.
- Starting with Spring 2026, a 3.0 unweighted GPA will be required for admission.
- If your GPA is below 3.0, you can still qualify for admission by completing one of the options listed in points 3-5 below.
- Submit Qualifying SAT or ACT scores:
- SAT: Evidence-Based Reading - 480 and Math - 570
- ACT: English - 21 and Math - 23
Applicable SAT and ACT scores must be from within the last five years.
- Submit GED transcript with scores
- Reasoning Through Language Arts: 165
- Math: 165
- Take the EdReady placement method:
- If your GPA is between 2.7 and 2.99, testing is not required but it is recommended
to help place you into college-level courses (through Fall 2025).

You’ve submitted your application—great job! Here’s what to do next to complete your
enrollment and get ready for your first day at York Tech:
Apply for Financial Aid
Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) to apply for all types of financial aid—including South Carolina Lottery-funded
Tuition Assistance. Some programs, like the LIFE Scholarship, may not require the
FAFSA, but we strongly recommend that you complete it and have your results sent to
York Technical College (School Code: 003996).
Register for Classes
Once you receive your acceptance email, you’ll also get a notification with your registration
options. This email will include instructions for selecting your classes and connecting
with an Enrollment Counselor, if needed.
Attend New Student Orientation
After registering, sign up for a New Student Orientation session—offered in person
and online. During orientation, you will:
- Receive your student ID
- Learn about your academic program
- Learn about academic and student support programs
- Learn how to access important student platforms like Navigate and D2L
- Get your parking pass (if you’ll be on campus)
- and more!
Pay Tuition
Be sure to pay your tuition and fees by the published deadlines to confirm your schedule
and avoid being dropped from your courses.
