Additional Requirements for Out-of-State Students Taking Online Classes

Students applying to take one or more distance education courses who reside outside the state of SC can be residents in any U.S. state or territory, excluding California. Programs at York Technical College are designed to meet South Carolina requirements for licensure or certification. By continuing to apply as an out-of-state student taking online classes, you acknowledge the following:

  • Professional Licensure: I understand that, if I am applying to a program that leads to professional licensure and if I reside outside the state of South Carolina or intend to practice outside the state of South Carolina, the program for which I am applying may or may not meet the licensure requirements for the other state. I acknowledge that I have visited the Professional Licensure and Certification page on the York Technical College website to determine whether the program for which I am applying meets licensure requirements in my home state or the state in which I intend to practice.
  • Military: I am currently stationed or expect to be stationed outside the United States and its territories and I understand that I may not be eligible to take distance education courses with York Technical College. I acknowledge that individual determinations must be made regarding my eligibility. I also acknowledge that I will not have access to York Technical College technology systems outside the United States unless special permission is granted.
  • Students residing in California or outside the U.S. and its territories: I acknowledge that I may not be eligible to enroll in distance education courses at York Technical College. I also acknowledge that individual determinations must be made regarding my eligibility.
