Credit for Prior Learning
Turn Your Experience Into a Degree
Have you gained skills or knowledge outside of a traditional classroom that might be similar to what you'd learn in a college course? If so, you may be eligible to receive academic credit for what you already know!
One way to receive recognition for your existing knowledge and experience is through Credit for Prior Learning. This is a process through which students can earn college-level credit for knowledge and skills acquired outside of the traditional classroom. This learning may come from work experience, military service, professional training, certifications, independent study, or other life experiences. Credit for prior learning also offers meaningful benefits.

In addition to reducing the time and cost required to complete a degree, research
shows that adult learners who earn credit for prior learning are more likely to graduate
than those who do not. Additionally, students may earn a significant portion of the
credits required for a degree through prior learning opportunities. To meet specific
institutional or academic requirements, the College reserves the right to modify procedures,
documentation requirements, and eligibility criteria as necessary.
