Our courses, led by experienced and dedicated instructors, will prepare you for a rewarding career in the transportation industry. Even if you’ve never driven a truck before, we can help you meet your goal to obtain a Commercial Driver’s license.
Learn How You Will Make an Impact
Through classroom and driving instruction, this course prepares you to obtain a Class A Commercial Driver’s License. You will learn trucking regulations, operations and safety in truck transportation, map reading and logbook management. Instructors will also teach you how to perform pre-trip inspections, procedures for coupling/uncoupling and sliding fifth wheel and trailer tandems. Practice on the driving range will build your skills in braking, shifting and backing. On the road, you will practice shifting techniques, engine RPM management, stops, starts and turns.

- Pre-enroll with Ancora and they will reach out to you with the next steps for you to qualify for registration:
- Department of Transporation (DOT) Physical*
- Earn your CDL Class A Permit (Ranges from $15-$20)
- 10-year Motor Vehicle Report*
- Department of Transportation (DOT) Drug Screening*
- Complete the Technical Standard Form
- Complete the Financial Aid process (Truck Driving is not approved to receive federal
aid)
- Sign the FAFSA Waiver Form and select "I am not enrolled in a program that is eligible for Title IV federal aid."
- Complete the SC Wins Affidavit form (a link will be sent to your email)
- Pay the class fee
- (The fee for Truck Driver Training CDL A is $5,673.00 for in-county residents and $5808.00 for out-of-county residents. All our classes are register and pay in full at time of registration. We do not offer payment plans. You may click on the tab for Financial Assistance on our website to see if you are eligible for help with funding.)
- Additionally, you may view page 9 of this document for a breakdown of fees with Financial Aid applied.
Additional Requirements
- Students must be 18 years old or older to enroll in the program.
- Students must meet SC Residency Requirements in accordance with the SC Code of Laws Title 59 when establishing residency for in-state tuition and fee purposes.
- Dual Enrollment students are not eligible for this program.
CDL Student Reminders
- Weekday 4-week course: Monday - Thursday 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. for four weeks.
- Weekend 8-week course: Saturday and Sunday 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
