York Technical College Selects New EVP

Cooper is a transformative leader who has committed his time and energy to advancing student success. The Executive Vice President for Academic and Student Affairs' responsibility is to deliver on the College’s mission of maximizing student success with a clear focus on student outcomes related to recruitment, retention, completion, and placement. York Tech's President Stacey Moore said, "We are thrilled to have Dr. Cooper join the York Tech team. Jamie has demonstrated an unrelenting drive to improve student success throughout his career, with a critical focus on equity and inclusion. He is a great fit for York Tech and the values we hold dear."

Prior to York Tech, Cooper served as Vice Provost for Student Success and Dean of University College at Winthrop University. Cooper collaborated across the University and led projects geared toward growing retention and commencement rates. In addition to his role at Winthrop, Cooper has held higher education positions at Virginia Commonwealth University, George Mason University, and Evergreen State College. With over 20 years of experience in higher education, he has developed the skills necessary to succeed in his new role as Executive Vice President for Academic and Student Affairs.

"I look forward to working with President Moore and York Tech's faculty, staff, and community partners to help the institution continue its strong history of responding to community needs and positively impacting the lives of citizens in York, Chester, and Lancaster counties, and across the region."

Cooper is passionate about all students' inclusion and success, earning his Ph.D. and M.S in Psychology-Developmental from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University and his M.A. in Educational Psychology and Counselor Education and B.S. in Psychology from Tennessee Technological University. The College is delighted to have Cooper join the York Tech community as the College begins its next chapter.
