Three York Technical College Faculty Recognized for Excellence
We are proud to share that three York Technical College staff members have recently received special recognition and awards, highlighting their dedication and contributions to our institution and their fields. These achievements reflect the high standards and commitment to excellence that we value at York Technical College. We celebrate their success and the positive impact they have on our community.
First CDL and Utility Line Worker Program Manager David Ross was named All-American
Power Lineman Worker of the Year by Lineman Central. This is a national recognition
awarded to an elite few who demonstrate excellence and dedication of the highest caliber
to the field of line work. David’s leadership and expertise has fostered an incredible
Line Worker Program, putting over 100 young professionals into the field, changing
lives in the process.
Next, Program Coordinator for Building and Construction Trades Allison Terry was named
SkillsUSA Advisor of the Year for the Southeast Region. This is a well-deserved recognition
as Allison’s impact on York Technical College is felt across all areas. She started
a SkillsUSA Chapter at YTC, and through her hard work and leadership, the College
brought home 17 medals at the state championships this year. Allison will represent
the entire Southeast Region as she pursues the National SkillsUSA Advisor of the Year
at the National Competition.
Last, we have Machine Tool Technology (MTT) Department Chair Jim McNeil (middle) and
Machine Tool Instructors Andy Logan (left) and Travis Nichols (right). This group
was recently recognized as Post Secondary Educators of the Month by Phillips Haas.
These men do an incredible job running the MTT Program, boasting placement rates in
the high 90% range, with multiple years having 100% placement. The group, along with
their program, will be featured in an upcoming newsletter from the Phillips Haas organization.
Congratulations to each of you!
