Aperion Society (Science Club)
This is a science club. It is open to all students who enjoy different aspects of
science, regardless of the student's major field of concentration. The club sponsors

Fitness Club (YTC Fit)
The members of the York Technical College Fitness Club associate all current and future
members to bring together students, faculty, and staff interested in activities that
lead to improved physical fitness for the improvement of overall health – physical,

Literary Arts Club
This organization strives to aid participants in the research and comprehension of
literary works, to encourage library understanding in the college community, and to

This is an organization to promote good-will and understanding, to develop character,

SkillsUSA Chapter
SkillsUSA seeks to empower students to become skilled professionals and career ready
leaders. Membership is open to all students in industrial, STEM, or health science
programs. SkillsUSA allows students to compete at a state and national level, creating
a space for them to showcase their knowledge in front of industry leaders and develop

Surgical Technology Club (SCRUB Club)
Membership is open to regularly enrolled students at York Technical College in the
associate degree program and those on the waiting list in the general technology holding
code. The purpose of the SCRUB Club is to promote an atmosphere conductive to optimum
learning, to foster the professional development of surgical technology students,
and to provide the opportunity for students to demonstrate teamwork through participation

Theta Alpha Pi (ΣAπ) - National Society of Leadership and Success (NSLS)
The National Society of Leadership and Success (NSLS) is the nation’s largest leadership
honor society and collegiate leadership development program. Students must have a
minimum overall GPA of 2.7 to be invited for membership. NSLS differentiates itself
from traditional honor societies in that students must complete a step-by-step leadership
development program in order to become inducted. The curriculum offers students the
opportunity to develop many in-demand skills such as leadership, communication, and

Phi Beta Lambda (ΦBΛ) - Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA)
PBL is a postsecondary professional business organization open to any student who
has an interest in business, regardless of the student's major field of concentration.
Phi Beta Lambda's purpose is to bring business, education, and the community together
in a positive working relationship in order to build leadership qualities in students.
PBL is affiliated on a state and national level, allowing students to meet and compete
with other students from across the state and nation, as well as to participate in

Phi Theta Kappa (ΦΘΚ)
Phi Theta Kappa is an international honor society for junior colleges. Its purpose
is to recognize academic excellence, and to encourage leadership and service among
students. Alpha Alpha Iota is the York Technical College chapter of Phi Theta Kappa.
To be eligible for active membership, a student must be enrolled in an associate degree
program, and must have completed 12 semester hours toward the degree with a cumulative

Executive Leadership Council
The Executive Leadership Council (ELC) advances the college’s mission of maximizing student success across all academic divisions. Student members advise the President on current and
future Academic and Student Affairs processes, events, and services. The members of
the Council serve as real-time consultants and provide insight into student needs,
barriers, and ways the college can improve the overall student experience. Members
expand their leadership and interpersonal skills, gain valuable connections, and have
the opportunity to advocate for Technical/Community Colleges at the state and national
level.
If you are interested in serving on the Council, please email Alyssa Collins: ACollins@yorktech.edu. After you express interest, there is an informal interview process to ensure members
are willing to represent their program, division, and York Technical College.
BCAS Dean's Council
Mission and Goals:
The mission and goals of the BCAS Dean’s Council are as follows: The BCAS Dean’s
will serve a sounding board group for the Associate Vice President of Business, Computers,
Arts, and Sciences. This group will be kept up to date on BCAS plans and changes
through regular meetings with BCAS Leadership. This group will also provide leadership
development for members through BCAS sponsored development as well as organizing and
Leading yearly service projects.
Council Composition:
The council is made up of BCAS students (this may be students in programs outside
of BCAS due to the far-reaching nature of BCAS general education exposure. Students
must be in good standing at the college and be sponsored by a BCAS faculty member
who is willing to nominate the student and provide a written nomination, including
a write up on each student (that includes the reason for the nomination).

IET Dean's Council
Mission and Goals:
The mission of the IET Dean's Council is to serve as a liaison between Industrial
and Engineering Technologies Division students and administration to facilitate communication,
encourage student interaction and collaboration, and showcase the productive talents
of students organizations. The Dean's Council intends to educate, promote, and enhance
the IET Division in its quest for excellence.
Council Composition:
The council is made up of two student representatives from each department/program
in IET. Also, the Dean and Associate Dean oversee teh council with help from the office
administration staff. The council is established each year with new member and past
members that are still enrolled as students and desire to serve for a second year.

HHS Dean's Council
Mission and Goals:
The mission of the Dean’s Council is to serve as a liaison between the Health and
Human Services faculty, students, and administration, to facilitate communication,
student interaction and collaboration, and highlight student success. The Dean’s Council
intends to educate, promote, and enhance the Health and Human Services Division as
it strives for excellence.
Council Composition:
The Council is made up of two student representatives (a freshman and senior student)
from each department/program in Health and Human Services. Members are recommended
by the department/program faculty and will serve on the Council for one academic year.
