The Machine Tool Technology program at York Technical College is accredited by the
National Institute for Metalworking Skills® (NIMS).
Students receive practical hands-on experience in machine tool labs using standard machine tool equipment and CNC equipment. This experience assists in training them to meet high quality standards in manufacturing intricate precision components in modern manufacturing environments. In addition, students also receive training in metallurgical heat treatment, blue print reading, GD&T (Geometrical Dimensioning and Tolerance), as well as CAD/CAM systems and precision measuring instruments.
The Machine Tool Technology curriculum offers a General Technology degree program, a diploma, and an Advanced CNC Certificate program.
A comprehensive technical education is offered through various instructional methods to train student from Chester, Lancaster, and York Counties.
To achieve our mission, our approach is to design and deliver effective, competency-based instruction that is systematic, yet flexible. This approach focuses on defining, in measurable terms, what students are able to learn, and then evaluating how well they can perform designated tasks after instruction.
