Here are a few things you can do throughout the academic year to ensure your success:
Know who your advisor is!
You can find the name and contact information for your academic advisor by logging into D2L, York Tech's online portal. After entering your username and password, select the Advisee tab under My Courses, then click on the course link. Your advisor's contact information will be listed on the Course Home page.
Registration begins in late October for the Spring semester.
Try to complete the MAP (My Academic Plan) on your own, and then meet with your advisor for feedback.
Schedule an appointment with Financial Aid to put together a plan to meet your goals! You can reach Financial Aid by calling the Call Center at 803-327-8008, or use the Express Lane System to make an appointment.
Utilize the Financial Aid Offer Comparison Worksheet to analyze your financial aid offers from each school.
Accept your financial aid and continue to work on your financial plan.
Don't borrow more than you need - only spend aid funds on tuition and books.
If you are transferring in the fall to a four-year program, begin working with that university.
Check in with your advisor as well.
Complete and submit the FAFSA.
Check the YTC calendar for the FAFSA Frenzy schedule, where you can get free, professional help filling out the form.
