New Commissioner for York Technical College

John “Jack” Holladay has been recently appointed to the York Commission for Technical Education. He will serve a four-year term which officially began in May.

Holladay, the executive vice president for technology and facilities at Comporium Communications, was appointed by the governor as the newest member to the 11-member Commission, which serves as the governing body for York Technical College.

Employed with Comporium since 1984, Holladay is currently responsible for providing leading edge technology and business related solutions for the Enterprise. He is directly responsible for engineering and planning, network service, information technology, internet planning and development, facilities and construction, and supply chain.

“It’s an honor to be asked to serve our community as a member of the York County Commission for Technical Education,” said Holladay. “One of my passions is enabling people to better themselves by realizing their own potential. Continuous education is one of the greatest ways for someone to do just that. I look forward to helping York Tech fulfill their mission of building our community through maximizing student success in whatever way I can.”

Holladay earned a Master of Business Administration from Winthrop College (now University) and a Bachelor of Science in mathematics with a minor in computer science from Presbyterian College. He is an active volunteer in the Rock Hill community having served on the Board of Directors for the Boys and Girls Club of York County and the former Boys Home of York County. He has also served as a youth leader in his church and a youth basketball coach.

Robinson, chairman of the Commission.
