York Technical College’s Yolanda Wilson was recognized as one of 25 college administrators as a Distinguished College Administrator by Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society (PTK). The award was presented at PTK’s annual convention on April 5, 2019 in Orlando, Florida.

Wilson, who serves as the College’s Associate Vice President for Business, Computer, Arts and Sciences Division, was nominated for the award by the college’s local PTK chapter for her influence and support of the chapter’s project for improving childcare options for college students. “Being nominated by my own Phi Theta Kappa chapter and selected by many talented PTK students from across the country for the Distinguished College Administrator Award humbles me beyond measure,” expressed Wilson. “The students in this wonderful organization are our future leaders and their example of hard work and service inspires - and most of all, challenges - me to do even more to support students at my own institution and keep student success at the core of every conversation and every decision.”

Phi Theta Kappa is the premier honor society recognizing the academic achievement of students at associate degree-granting colleges and helping them to grow as scholars and leaders. The Society is made up of more than 3.5 million members and nearly 1,300 chapters in 10 nations. The Distinguished College Administrator Awards are presented to leaders serving at post-secondary institutions who have shown strong support of student success on their campus by recognizing academic achievement, leadership, and service among high-achieving students.
