Free Stop the Bleed Training – It’s CPR’s Cooler Cousin

On Thursday, May 23, York Technical College will host a free “Stop the Bleed” training day for the community. Certification only takes one hour, and our goal is to certify 200 people. The event will take place at the Rock Hill campus in the Anne Springs Close Learning Commons starting at 1 p.m.

Why Stop the Bleed?

Every second counts in a bleeding emergency. With these skills, YOU can be the difference between a life lost and a life saved. This training will empower you to act in dire situations, arming you with the knowledge and experience to save someone's life.

A schedule for the day’s events is listed below:

  • 1:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. – Stop the Bleed Training – Session 1
  • 2:30 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. – A Survivor’s Story and EMS Appreciation Program
  • 3:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. – EMS Life Savers Showcase – Meet our local heroes and learn about exciting careers.
  • 4:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. – Stop the Bleed Training Session 2

Prepare to be inspired by hero stories from local first responders and by a survivor’s tale of courage and resilience. We will share a heartfelt EMS appreciation message and a special highlight from EMS Program Alumni.

You will also have the chance to meet local first responders, ask questions about the job, and show your gratitude!
