This is a 200-hour course, which can be in class or hybrid. Emergency Medical Technicians (EMT) provide emergency care to the critically ill and injured at an emergency scene. The modern Emergency Medical Services (EMS) system has been developed to provide what is known as pre-hospital or out-of-hospital care. There are four levels in this career path: emergency medical responder, emergency medical technician, advanced emergency medical technician and paramedic. Our EMT program is certified and regulated by the S.C. Department of Health and Environmental Control. You will learn skills, rules and guidelines for providing emergency care. Successful completion qualifies you to take the National Registry certification examination and become certified in South Carolina. *Students must be 18-years old to take the National Registry Examination.
