YORK TECHNICAL COLLEGE WELCOMES NEW CHIEF FOR PUBLIC SAFETY

York Technical College’s new Chief of Public Safety, Bryan McDougald, joined the College’s staff on February 1, 2017. Chief McDougald comes to York Tech after serving over 20 years with the South Carolina Highway Patrol in various capacities.

CHiefHeadsotMcDougald’s wealth of experience in law enforcement includes: State Trooper, Public Information Officer, and Commander of Community Relations. He has also served with the South Carolina National Safety Council and most recently, the South Carolina Department of Public Safety as a Law Enforcement Liaison.

“My entire career has revolved around the serving and safety of others,” stated McDougald. “I’m excited to be apart of such an asset of our community with York Tech as they continue to strive for the safest and most stress free environment possible for their students and employees.”
 

McDougald’s key responsibilities will be ensuring a safe campus community while implementing a comprehensive college wide safety program.  He will also serve as the the primary liaison with local law enforcement agencies and lead emergency management to ensure compliance.

“This is a critical position here at the College,” stated Robby Brown, Director of Facilities Management. “I’m pleased that we have someone of McDougald’s caliber leading this key division.”
 

A Chester native, McDougald and his family currently reside in McConnells, South Carolina and are active members of the community.
