YORK TECHNICAL COLLEGE PROVIDES NEARLY 40 THANKSGIVING BASKETS TO FAMILIES IN NEED

In this season of giving thanks, York Technical College faculty, staff, and student organizations teamed together to share with others this holiday by donating items for Thanksgiving meals.

Nearly 40 baskets filled to the brim with traditional Thanksgiving staples were assembled to provide families less fortunate in our community a plentiful holiday meal. Baskets included all the trimmings such as stuffing, macaroni and cheese, green beans, yams and a variety of other items to help individuals host a memorable Thanksgiving. Each family also received a whole turkey.

Baskets were provided to local families in need identified by the Carolina Community Action Center in Chester, Lancaster and York counties.

“We are always looking for ways to give back to our community,” expressed Melanie Jones, Vice President of College Advancement at York Technical College. “During this time of year, especially, it’s inspiring to see our faculty and staff express such a desire to help others.”
